Dean joined the firm in 1986 and is the Managing Partner at Weinhold, Nickel & Company, LLP since 2006. Dean has over 22 years of experience in public accounting and auditing, all with Weinhold, Nickel & Company, LLP. He is involved in all aspects of the tax, accounting, auditing, and consulting services offered by the firm. Dean has experience in various industries including construction, retail, service, non-profit, and governmental entities.
Dean has extensive experience in the non-profit and governmental audit areas. His professional education complies with the requirements of Government Auditing Standards. In addition Dean devotes substantial time to address the strategic planning and business development needs for local businesses.
Dean graduated in 1985 from the Pennsylvania State University with a BS degree in Accounting. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, Pennsylvania Institute of Certified Public Accountants, and the Associated Builders and Contractors.
Dean speaks regularly on tax and financial planning topics for various civic organizations and other groups. He annually appears on Cable 11’s television production of "Your Money Matters" and WITF's financial information productions.
Dean enjoys serving in the local community through his involvement with the Ephrata Chamber of Commerce and the Ephrata Rotary Club, where he recently served his second term as President. He was a 2006 member of the MS Leadership Council. He is an active member of the Neffsville Mennonite Church where he most recently served as Chairman of the Finance Committee and Chairman of Church Council.
Dean resides in Ephrata with his wife, Amy and his two children, Michael and Kathryn. He is an avid sports fan and particularly enjoys spending time in the mountains.
