Emerson has over 34 years experience in the accounting field, spending 20 of those years with Weinhold, Nickel & Co., LLP. He graduated Magna Cum Laude from the Pennsylvania State University in 1973 with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, majoring in Accounting. While at Penn State, he was elected to membership in Beta Gamma Sigma and Phi Kappa Phi. He is licensed by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania to practice as a Certified Public Accountant, and is a member of both the Pennsylvania and American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Institute of Management Accountants. Emerson holds his Certified Financial Planning Certification.
Emerson is a member and three time President of the Denver Lions Club, the Denver-Adamstown Rotary Club (President 2005 - 2006), Ephrata Lodge No. 665 F. & A. M., Lancaster Lodge of Perfection, Scottish Rite Bodies in Valley of Reading, Rajah Shrine, Rajah Shrine Concert Band, and the Cocalico Alumni Band.
Born and raised in Denver, Pennsylvania, Emerson and his wife Jody have a son, Matthew and currently reside in Reamstown. He is a member of St. John’s UCC in Denver and has served as a member of the Church Consistory and is currently serving as a member of the Vision Implementation Team and the St. John's UCC Foundation committee. In his spare time he enjoys golf, watching sports, regularly attending Penn State home football games, and playing the euphonium.
